Guided tour of the premises of the on-site fire brigade
Face to face with the fire engines
The guided tour of the premises of Hamburg Airport’s on-site fire brigade is a very special experience for visitors of all ages. You will be thrilled by the combination of technology and aviation!
The airport fire brigade currently employs 80 full-time fire fighters in 24 hour shifts right around the clock to ensure that immediate and efficient assistance is available in the case of an emergency. It takes a mere 2.5 minutes for the emergency vehicles to get to any part of the runway or landing strip system. The fire brigade is not only responsible for fighting fires, but also for preventing them.
Within the framework of the round trip, we will drive out to the airport fire brigade with you and go on a tour of the vehicle halls with the impressive fire engines. You will learn interesting details about the areas of responsibility of the on-site fire brigade and have the chance to take a close look at the large tank fire-fighting vehicles. And action is guaranteed when the “Panther“ sprays water and the siren rings out!
Please note: Guided tours of the on-site fire brigade exclusively take place Mondays to Fridays and can only be booked in conjunction with the Model Exhibition and the round trip (all-in package).
Children must be at least 10 years of age to participate in the guided tour.
