- Hamburg Airport is making additional parking spaces available at the start of the summer holidays
Summer time is a time for travelling. At the start of the summer holidays in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Denmark, Hamburg Airport is expecting a clear demand for parking spaces. The airport is well prepared and is making additional spaces available. Our Danish neighbours already begin their holidays on Saturday, 26th June. This is followed by the summer holidays in Germany in the middle of July: the summer holidays start in Hamburg on 8th July, in Schleswig-Holstein on 12th July.
Since the opening of the new parking level P2-P4 at the end of October 2009, a total of approx. 12,000 parking spaces have been available at Hamburg Airport. Of these approx. 3,700 parking spaces are in the Holiday Park area at Weg beim Jäger. With a Holiday Park ticket travellers are able to park here for a favourable rate from a minimum stay of one week. This is available on the Internet at www.hamburg-airport.de and from the travel agent’s where the trip was booked. Furthermore, surveys have shown that additional parking spaces will be required this summer. Hamburg Airport has prepared itself accordingly and is making further parking spaces available in surrounding areas of the airport, which will be offered for a favourable holiday rate. These reserve areas open up as soon as the holiday parking spaces P8 and P9 are occupied. Staff will be on site to advise passengers about these additional possibilities.
Hamburg Airport requests passengers to carefully observe the parking space situation over the coming weeks. You should allow for more time looking for a parking space during the summer holidays. In addition Hamburg Airport advises all tenants, customers and visitors to use public transport and the city trains to get to the airport. Current information on the parking space situation can be found online at www.hamburg-airport.de.
