- Two new customers for Hamburg Airport Ground Handling
Airport subsidiaries awarded service contracts by Continental Airlines and air transat
Subsidiaries of Hamburg Airport have been awarded major contracts to provide ground handling services for two new long-distance services: Hamburg - New York with Continental Airlines and Hamburg - Toronto with air transat. The two airlines have appointed the Airport’s ground handling subsidiaries, which have established a strong reputation for delivering dependable, qualified services, to provide all ground handling services for the new routes.
Continental Airlines has signed a contract for a broad array of services to start with the airline’s inaugural flight to New York on 10 June 2005. GroundSTARS, STARS, CATS and AHS Hamburg, all subsidiaries of Hamburg Airport, will be providing aircraft loading and unloading services, aircraft cleaning, bus transfers and passenger handling services (the latter in conjunction with FIS security services) for the world’s sixth-largest airline. AHS Hamburg will also be operating the Continental Airlines ticket counter. This is the first time that the multiple-award winning airline has contracted this key service to an external partner.
On 20 May 2005, air transat, the Canadian charter airline, launches a new weekly Hamburg to Toronto service which will depart every Friday. Hamburg Airport’s subsidiaries GroundSTARS, STARS and CATS will be providing major ground handling services for this route from the first flight on, and will thus be performing a key function in the operation of the new service.
