- New Corporate Structure at Hamburg Airport - Ulrike Riedel is New Head of Ground Handling
Flughafen Hamburg GmbH is centralising responsibility for ground handling services in the business unit, “Ground Handling”. This new business unit is responsible for coordinating all overlapping processes relating to the area of ground handling services, including sales-related tasks. Operations will continue to be managed by the ground handling subsidiaries.
Ulrike Riedel is assuming the management of the business unit. The 32-year old business graduate (Diplomkauffrau) has been Managing Director of the handling agent AHS Hamburg for the last three years. Prior to this, she was in charge of the Information & Service unit at Hamburg Airport. Along with her new responsibilities as head of the Ground Handling business unit, Ulrike Riedel has taken over the commercial management of the ground handling subsidiaries. This effectively merges responsibility for both contracts and service delivery at Hamburg Airport.
Werner Hauschild, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hamburg Airport, comments: “In recent months and years, the economic challenges facing the aviation industry have become more ambitious than ever before. This applies especially to Hamburg Airport, which is currently undertaking the largest expansion programme in its history. With the structural and personnel changes, we will remain well equipped for these challenges."
The following firms are ground handling subsidiaries of Flughafen Hamburg GmbH: GroundSTARS GmbH & Co. KG, STARS Special Transport and Ramp Services GmbH & Co. KG, CATS Cleaning and Aircraft Technical Services GmbH & Co. KG and AHS Hamburg.
