    Successful Financial Year 2007

Hamburg Airport Achieves Growth in Passenger Numbers, Turnover and Profit

Hamburg Airport concluded the financial year 2007 successfully, with passenger numbers growing by 6.9 per cent to 12.8 million passengers per year. This puts Hamburg Airport ahead of the national average growth of 6.0 per cent published by the German Airports Association (ADV). Turnover grew by 5.0 per cent to 234.2 million euros. The annual surplus also grew: at 48.2 million euros, profit was up 26.2 per cent from the previous year. 2007 saw the deployment of larger and more modern aircraft combined with better load factors. The increase in aircraft movements over the course of the year was significantly lower than passenger growth - 3.0 per cent growth in aircraft movements, representing a total of 173,499 take-offs and landings. Air freight, too, is on the way up: 2007 saw the air freight transhipment volume at Hamburg Airport rise by 9.2 per cent to 84,400 tonnes.

"The encouraging economic developments in Germany and the proactive work by airlines in Hamburg have made a definitive contribution to Hamburg Airport's success," explained Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport, at the Financial Results Press Conference. "2007 saw our airlines launch 20 new routes as well as increasing frequency and seating capacity on many existing routes. Hamburg is an attractive location, and the airport has been a fair partner to all airlines, both traditional and low cost, for a number of years. This is directly reflected in our result."

Passenger Growth and Center Management Earnings Guarantee Result
The primary factors in Hamburg Airport's successful financial result were the encouraging development in passenger numbers and the positive economic environment. The two most important commercial elements, aviation and non-aviation business, continue to be directly influenced by passenger figures. The non-aviation business area generates revenues not directly related to aviation activities, for example from parking facilities, food & beverage outlets, retail, advertising and other services. Strict cost management and an efficient corporate structure also contributed to the positive result. Hamburg Airport's subsidiaries and holdings also played an important role.

The New Hamburg Airport - On the Home Straight
The halfway point was celebrated in 2007; at the end of 2008, the last milestone in the HAM 21 Expansion Programme, the Airport Plaza, will open its doors to passengers. At the end of the year, the Airport Plaza, along with the S-Bahn (suburban rail network) sta-tion, will complete the New Hamburg Airport. The shops and restaurants in the Airport Plaza will for the most part be located behind the security checkpoint, which will be completely transferred from the terminals into the Airport Plaza. 2,630 square metres of restaurants, cafés and bars will be available to passengers, along with around 40 shops spread over some 4,450 square metres. "The Airport Plaza will be our central building, incorporating the security checkpoint together with double the current range of retail and food & beverage outlets. With the Airport Plaza, we are keeping our promise, remaining an airport with short walking distances. Passengers can walk from the car park to the departure gate in a matter of minutes, quicker than in any other European airport of comparable size," explains Michael Eggenschwiler.

Night Post Flights Stopped: Improved Environment for Nearby Residents
Germany's postal service, Deutsche Post, stopped its night-time post flights between Hamburg and Frankfurt on 30 March, 2008, after more than 25 years of operation. This will result in some 500 less nocturnal aircraft movements per year.

Perspective for 2008: Hamburg Airport Expecting Further Growth
Michael Eggenschwiler expects the positive development of the airport to continue in 2008. "Thanks to good growth figures and the attractive, wide-ranging route network, Hamburg Airport is gaining a stronger standing on an international level. Hamburg Airport has now climbed to 100th position on the list of the world's international airports. We will be continuing our efforts so as to progress further up the ladder. 2008 will bring with it a continuation of the upwards trend in passenger movements, albeit somewhat more moderate than in 2007. Our aim is to achieve more than 13 million passengers in one year for the first time. With the opening of the Airport Plaza and the S-Bahn connection to the city centre, Hamburg Airport is well equipped to face the high demands of an international airport of the future." In the first quarter of 2008, Hamburg Airport reported passenger growth of 6.2 per cent.
